Kia ora Island Bay Residents Association,
We really enjoyed speaking to so many members of the Island Bay community last Saturday in regards to the Island Bay Town Centre Upgrades. We are excited to get this project underway and begin those conversations further with the working group, who we are in contact with.
The working group has representatives from Island Bay businesses, Island Bay Residents Association, Tapu Te Ranga Marae, and general community groups. We’ve encouraged each member to think about the breadth of the community’s interests, desires, and aspirations.
The Council and the working group will take the community’s comments and feedback from the drop-in session on 9 April and continue to co-design and develop the priorities and vision for Island Bay town centre into a concept plan to create a safe, accessible, and identifiable space.
For your information, we will be hosting the first working group meeting with the confirmed members on Wednesday 27 April 2022. Please note we have moved the date from 20 April due to long weekends and school holidays.
