We hosted our first community clean-up yesterday, Saturday 3rd May 2025. Wayne, from Keep NZ Beautiful Trust, came along with his van and supplies.
The turnout was, well, limited! Wayne and I made our way up to the Village and back. We collected 3 bags of rubbish, a blue tub, and a rotten picture board. We returned a trolley to New World from down near the Bowling club.
I logged 3 fix-it requests with WCC. The requests include bus stop repairs and clearing broken glass from the road. I also requested to get the sweeper out to clear all the leaf debris from the paths and cycleway.
And to finish off we enjoyed a well earned coffee from The Grocer’s Shed on Reef Street.
